I used a platter for the base. I rolled the diapers and tied with a pink ribbon. I began by rolling diapers & securing each one with a rubber band. I and so bundled them effectually a the canteen & secured with another prophylactic band. I also tied crimper ribbon around each "layer" to make it tighter. I added the diaper rash ointment for the third layer. I probably should have used a 4 oz canteen in hindsight. :-) Anyway, to arrive fifty-fifty more secure I inserted 4 small wooden dowels. The cute little rattle on peak is a not bad trivial item I ordered from babyshowerstuff.com. I used the ribbon shreds around the edge of each layer. And I used scrapbook stickers for the proper name & decorations. I think it turned out perfect!!! And I can't await to brand another one!

This diaper block was made for a very special lady expecting her first baby. The nursery was 'outfitted' in chocolate-brown/pinkish zebra print...so we ran with the colors for the baby shower. The six layer cake was a huge hitting...and an even bigger surprise.
Steps:
- Cut baseboard out of poster board and encompass with brown straw place mat. Lightly baste ruffle around edge of place mat.
- Because this was such a large block I used the base of a plastic birdbath to concord everything in place. It was hot glued to the eye of the mat.
